The **Slope Intercept** equation for a line (y = mx +b) computes the y coordinate on a line based on the linear coefficients of slope (m) and intercept (b) and the value of x. If you input the slope and the y-intercept, along with a value for X, the equation returns the value for Y corresponding to that X.
