`A = 4 pi * "r" ^2`

Enter a value for all fields

The **Surface Area of a Sphere** calculator computes the surface area of a sphere based on its radius (**r**).

**INSTRUCTIONS:** Choose units and enter the following:

- (
**r**) the radius of the sphere.

**Sphere Surface Area (A):** The Surface Area of the Sphere is returned in square meters (m^{2}). However, this can be automatically converted into other area units (e.g. square feet, acres) via the pull-down menu.

The formula for the surface area of a sphere is:

A = 4π•r²

where:

- A is the surface area of the sphere
- r is the radius of the sphere
