The **Surface Area of a Cone** calculator computes the surface area as a function of the radius of the base (r) and the height (h). * Right circular cone *

**Cone Surface Area (A):** The surface area is returned in square meters (m^{2}). However, this can be automatically converted to other area units via the pull-down menu.

Height is defined as the length of the central axis from the base to the apex of the cone. See diagram. The formula for the surface area of a cone is:

where:

- r = radius of the base
- h = height of the cone
