The **Area of the Walls in a Room** calculator computes the surface area of the interior walls in a rectangular room based on the length, width and height of the room.

**INSTRUCTIONS:** Choose units and enter the following:

- (
**L**) Length of Room - (
**W**) Width of Room - (
**H**) Height of Room

**Total Area (A): **The calculator computes the area in square feet. However, this can be automatically converted into other area units via the pull-down menu. **Note,** this does **not** include the ceiling or floor.

The formula to compute the surface area of walls in a room is:

`A = (2*L*H + 2*W*H)`

where:

- A = interior surface area of a room (excluding the floor and ceiling)
- L = length of the room
- W = width of the room
- H = height of the room
