The Mass and Weight Conversion calculator converts a measurement of mass or weight from one standard units to another.

INSTRUCTION: Choose your preferred mass or weight units and enter the following:

  1.  (M)  Enter the Input mass
  2. Choose the correct input units for M,
  3. Choose the output units you wish from the pull-down menu next to the answer box.

Mass/Weight: The calculator returns M1  in the same units.,.  However, the answer can be automatically converted to other mass or weight units via the pull-down menu.

Scientific Note: Mass and Weight are technically two different things.  Weight is a force and mass is independent of any forces.  However, under the force of gravity on the Earth's surface there is an easy and frequently used association between mass units like kilograms and weight units like pounds.  The conversions in this calculator assumes this situation.

Mass and Weight Units

The mass and weight units available include the following:

vCalc's Mass / Weight Units
(mg) milligrams (oz) ounces (gr) grain(me) electron mass
 (g) grams (lb) pounds (ct) carat(u) atomic mass
(kg) kilograms tons (U.S.) (dwt) pennyweightEarth Mass
