The Sump Pump Calc calculator computes the time required to pump a volume of liquid (e.g., water) using a sump pump's flow rate (PFR).
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
- (V) Total Volume of Liquid (e.g. Oil)
- (PFR) Pump Flow Rate (e.g. 2600 barrels/day)
Time to Pump (t): The calculator returns the pump time in minutes. However this can be automatically converted to many compatible units (e.g. seconds, hours, days) via the pull-down menu.
The Math / Science
The formula to compute the time required to pump a volume of liquid with a sump pump is:
T = V/PFR
where:
- T = Time to Pump
- V = Volume of liquid to be pumped
- PFR = Sump Pump Volumetric Flow rate
