The Junk Silver Coin Value calculator computes current value for Junk Silver based on the dollar Face Value, the current Silver Spot Price ($27.18 /Troy Ounce) in U.S. dollars and the Junk Silver multiple (0.715).
INSTRUCTIONS: Enter the following:
Junk Silver Value (V): The calculator returns the total value of the coins in U.S. dollars. However, this can be automatically converted to other currencies via the pull-down menu.
This formula will provide the value of the Junk Silver. Junk Silver is comprised of U.S. silver coins with no numismatic value. These are often coins that are very worn and have lost any value outside of the silver content. These are U.S. coins with dates before 1964 when the U.S. Mint stamped its last coins with .9 silver content.
The Face Value is the sum of the face value of the coins. If the user had three(3) U.S. quarters and two (2) U.S. dimes, the Face Value would be 3* .25 + 2 *.10 = $.95
