The Math / Science

The ideal gas law  is the equation of state of a hypothetical ideal gas. It is a good approximation to the behavior of many gases under many conditions.  The ideal gas law is often represented in its common form: 

                             PV = nRT

where:

• P - pressure of the gas
• T - temperature of the gas
• n - amount of the gas, typically specified in moles (mol)
• V - volume of the gas
• R - the universal gas constant
