The Bible Weights equation converts weights in the biblical units to modern weights such as kilograms and pounds.

Introduction

The Bible contains references to weight units used in ancient times.  The generally accepted set of units are as follows:

• talent  34 kilograms
• mina  0.6 kilograms
• shekel  11.5 grams
• pm  7.6 grams
• beka  5.5 grams
• gerah  0.6 grams

Note: a talent is also used a unit of currency, but is different than the weight unit.
