The Conveyor Mass or Weight Production Capacity calculator computes the total mass or weight of units of some commodity that can be processed or moved a conveyor system during a period of time.
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
Conveyor Production Weight or Mass Capacity: The calculator returns the mass or weight of units processed on the conveyor in the specified time in kilograms. However this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.
The Conveyor Mass Capacity equation computes the total mass of some number of units of some commodity that can be moved by a conveyor system in some amount of time.
In other words, if you were conveying something like peanuts or ping pong balls or pieces of candy via some conveyor device, this equation would tell you how much mass would be transferred by the conveyor device in a fixed amount of time.
Here's what you give the equation:
`"number units moved" = ("number of units" / "unit area") * "width of conveyor" * "speed of conveyor" * "run time" * ("mass"/"unit")`
Notice that the units help you now that you have the equation correct. The units "cancel out" if you have built your equation properly:
`"mass transferred" = ("number of units" /"feet"^2) * "feet" * ("feet"/"minute") * "minutes" * ("kg"/"unit")`
`"mass transferred" = ("number of units" /"feet") * ("feet"/"minute") * "minutes" * ("kg"/"unit")`
`"mass transferred" = ("number of units") * (1/"minute") * "minutes" * ("kg"/"unit")`
`"mass transferred" = ("number of units") * ("kg"/"unit")`
`"mass transferred" = "kg"`
