The Sand Required for a Sandbag Wall calculator estimates volume of sand needed for a single bag wide wall of height (H) and length (L).
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
Volume of Sand (V): The calculator returns the volume of sand in cubic yards. However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.
The volume of sand needed for a sandbag wall is approximately the walls length times its height times its width. This equation assumes the width is one bag laid lengthwise. The width of a standard bag is fourteen inches (14"). When partially filled with sand, the width is approximately twelve inches (12") which is used in this formula.
