A Krugerrand is a gold or silver coin from the nation of South Africa. It was first minted in 1967 by the South African Mint and the Rand Refinery. The face has the likeness of Paul Kruger, the President of South Africa from 1883 to 1902, and the reverse is the likeness of a pronking springbok, which is the national animal.
