The **Time to Produce or Consume a Weight or Mass** calculator computes the period of time (**`p`**) needed to process a total mass or weight of material (**MW**) at a mass processing rate. The processing rate is a unit of mass (**vU**) and the time to produce or consume the unit (**dU**) (e.g. 5.6 grams every 22 minutes).

**INSTRUCTIONS:** Choose your weight or mass units and enter the following:

- (
**vU**) This is the weight or mass of the base unit (e.g. 3.2 pounds) - (
**dU**) This is the amount of time to process the base unit (e.g. 2.4 seconds per 3.2 pounds) - (
**MW**) This is the total amount to be processed over time (e.g. 72 tons)

The calculator returns the time (T_{mass}) required to process the total amount (MW) at the set rate (vU/dU). The answer is returned in hours. However this can be automatically converted to other time units (seconds, minutes, days or years) via the pull-down menu. To compute the Mass or Weight processed over a Period of Time, **CLICK HERE**.

You want to know how long it will take (**p**) to manufacture 45 tons (**v**) of flour if your machine can process 2.2 pounds (**vU**) every 3 minutes (**dU**). The answer would be 85.22 days.
