Creating a Dataset with the Dataset Editor

DatasetButton.pngTo create a dataset, you have to be logged into vCalc. CreateButton.png  Once you’ve logged into vCalc, click on the red Create button at the top right of the screen and choose Dataset.  This will take you to the Dataset Editor user interface.

The Dataset Editor has three tabs:

  1. Using the Dataset Editor Info Tab - This tab is where you give your dataset a name and designate if it's for public use.
  2. Using the Dataset Editor Design Tab- This tab is the user interface for defining the columns in your dataset.
  3. Using the Dataset Editor Permissions Tab - This tab lets you share your datasets with (give permissions to) vCalc individuals and groups.

Steps to Create a Dataset with the Dataset Editor

  1. Log into your vCalc account
  2. Click on the "Create" button at the top right of the wiki page.
  3. Choose "Dataset" from the drop menu
  4. Enter the relevant data in each of the three tabs on the dataset editor's window

When you first launch the Dataset Editor, it will take you to the Info tab (see Next Article).
