The Mean Velocity calculator computes the mean velocity (v_m) based on two velocities and the duration at those velocities.

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:

• (V₁) This is the first velocity.
• (t₁) This is the duration of motion at the first velocity.
• (V₂) This is the second velocity.
• (t₂) This is the duration of motion at the second velocity.

Mean Velocity (v_m): The calculator computes the final velocity(v_m) in meters per second.  However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Math/Science

The formula for the mean velocity is:

      `v_m = (V_1*t_1 + V_2*t_2)/(t_1 + t_2)`

where:

• v_m is the mean velocity
• V₁ is the initial velocity
• t₁ is the time of motion at velocity 1.
•  V₂ is the initial velocity
• t₂ is the time of motion at velocity 2.
