The **Fuel Cost over a Distance **calculator computes the cost of fuel for a trip based on the distance, fuel efficiency (mpg) and the price of fuel.

**INSTRUCTIONS**: Choose units and enter the following:

- (D) Distance of Travel
- (MPG) Fuel Efficiency (miles per gallon or kilometers per liter)
- (P) Price of Fuel (e.g., dollars per gallon)

**Cost of Fuel (TC):** The calculator returns the total fuel cost in U.S. dollars. However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down window.

The formula for the Cost of Fuel is:

TC = (D/f)⋅P

where:

- TC = Total Cost of fuel
- D = Distance Traveled
- f = Fuel Economy
- P = Unit Price of Fuel
