Painting is the practice of applying paint, pigment, color or other medium to a surface (support base). The medium is commonly applied to the base with a brush but other implements, such as knives, sponges, and airbrushes, can be used.

This calculator employs the use of a simple equation in finding the estimated amount of paint one would require on a particular paint job. The equation takes into consideration existing doors and windows that would not require painting then the areas of such are deducted from the area of the wall and a final estimate of paint needed is achieved.

The **Paint for a Room** calculator estimates the number of gallons of paint or primer needed to cover a rectangular room (blue in diagram) based on the length, width and height of the room.

The **Cost of Paint Needed for a Wall** calculator computes the cost of paint or primer needed to cover an interior wall.

The **Cost of Ceiling Paint** calculator estimates the cost of paint or primer needed to cover a ceiling (light grey in diagram) of a rectangular room based on the length and width of the room.

The **Production Rate Calculator** computes the length, area, volume or generic units that can be processed, produced or consumed over a period of time base on a constant rate. It also computes the amount of time needed to process, produce or consume a total length, area, volume or number of generic unit based on a total number and a constant rate.

Astrology has been around since ancient times and was created by a people who had no idea what a star or a planet really was. In fact at that time they ascribed literal human characters to constellations and planets. But astrology has persisted into the present day and this data set captures the most central data element of astrology, the dates associated with the periods of the calendar that have been named for key constellations.
