The Tea Estimate calculator estimates the amount of tea (could be other liquid beverage) required to support an expected amount of retail sales based on sales history.
This calculator serves an entrepreneur who is selling a beverage to an event audience -- let's say selling cups of flavored tea at an art festival. This calculator gives the entrepreneur a way to calculate how much base product they would need for an upcoming event based on their sales history.
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
Containers of Tea (CoT): The calculator returns the number of containers needed for the projected event. The default assumptions are made that a single glass holds 16 ounces and sells for $3.00. These defaults can be modified for your particular sales model.
Possible Sales above Average: A common way to compute the above average possibility is the Standard Deviation of the previous sales history. This is used to develop a safe overage of production. A small historical deviation results in small potential overage. In other words, using this equation reduces your risk of buying too much base product. (CPC) Cost per cup sold
If you keep track of your previous sales, and from your records you can estimate standard deviation and average sales, this equation will tell you how many containers of mix you will need next time you have a sales event scheduled.
