The Concrete Needed for a Foundation calculator computes the volume of concrete in a poured rectangular foundation (e.g. the foundation under a rectangular house/building).

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose your preferred units and enter the following:

• (L) Length of the foundation
• (W) Width of the foundation
• (H) Height of the foundation walls.
• (T) The thickness of the foundation walls.
• (units) SYSTEM is the default for cubic yards. (See Alternative Units)

Volume: The volume of concrete is returned in cubic yards.  However, this can be automatically converted to other volume units (e.g. cubic meters) via the pull-down menu.

### Alternative Units

For the DIY crowd.  The calculator also computes the amount of concrete in different sizes of bags.  The output is in volume units (cubic yards as a default) but can be converted to any of the following choices:

• SYSTEM - provides any of the standard vCalc volume units (e.g. cubic meters - m3)
• 40lb bags - 40 pound bag of concrete mix
• 60lb bags - 60 pound bag of concrete mix
• 80 lb bags - 80 pound bag of concrete mix
