The Volume of Concrete in a Footer calculator computes the volume of concrete in a complete rectangular footer (e.g. the footer under a rectangular house/building) based on the length and width of overall foot print and the depth and width of the footer channel (see diagram).

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose your preferred units and enter the following:

• (L) Length of the footer
• (W) Width of the footer
• (D) Depth of the footer
• (T) Width of the footer channel

Volume of Concrete:  The volume of concrete (V) needed for the footer is returned in cubic yards.  However, this can be automatically converted into other volume units (e.g. cubic meters) via the pull-down menu.

Note:  It is important to remember that the length and width of the footer are more than the length and width of the foundation.

### Alternative Units

For the DIY crowd that mixes their own concrete, the calculator will also compute the number of bags of concreted.  The output units can be selected from the following:

• 40lb bag - units of 40 pound bags of concrete mix
• 60lb bag - units of 60 pound bags of concrete mix
• 80lb bag - units of 80 pound bags of concrete mix
