The Greenhouse Volume equation (Quonset shaped) calculates the interior volume and surface area of a greenhouse based on simple measurements.
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
Quonset Hut Volume (V): The volume is returned in cubic feet, and the greenhouse surface area is returned in square feet. However, these can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.
The volume calculation is a simple computation using the lateral area of the green house defined by the area of the semi-ellipse of dimensions height (H) and width (W) times the (L) the length. The default input units are feet, and the calculator returns cubic feet. However, vCalc lets the user can choose one of many length and volume units for automatic conversion from the pull-down list for both the input length units and the output volume units.
The volume of a greenhouse is useful in many ways. It is most often needed for calculating the heating and moisture (humidity) needs of the greenhouse.
