The Fruit Production calculator computes the total weight of fruit produced on an amount of land based on the total acreage (A), the plants per acre (ppa) and the weight of fruit produce per plant (ppp).

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:

• (A) This is the amount of land in fruit trees or plants
• (ppa) This is the number of plants per acre in fruit (e.g. 84 citrus trees per acre)
• (ppp) This is the pounds of fruit per plant.

Total Crop Weight (TCW): The total crop weight is returned in pounds.  However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

#### The Math / Science

The formula for the total crop weight for fruit is:

TCW =   A • ppa/1 Acre  • ppp

where:

• TCW is the total crop weight
• A is the acreage in fruit crop
• ppa is the number of fruit trees or plants per acre
• ppp is the pounds of fruit per plant
##### Example

Let's say sixty acres are planted in jackfruit, 58 jackfruit trees are planted per acre, with a production rate of 2.5 tons of jackfruit per tree.   Using this calculator, you can enter 60 acres (A), 58 trees per acre (ppa) and 2.5 tons per tree (ppp), and the calculator will return 17,400,000 pounds (8700 tons U.S.)
