The Bike Cadence to Speed calculator computes the speed of a bicycle based on the ratio of teeth on the front and back gears, the pedal RPMs and the diameter of the rear tire (wheel).
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
Bike Speed (s): The calculator returns the speed in miles per hour. However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.
This calculator computes bike speed (s) from the pedal cadence (i.e., revolution frequency) (r), tire diameter (D), and the ratio of teeth in the front/chainring gear (Nf) to back/freewheel/cassette gear (Nb). Tire diameter is default in mm, cadence in rev/minute, and speed in mph.
